Minna 2012 Durbar

On the 19th and 20th of August 2012 in Minna Niger State during the Eid nuburak salah festival, the 2012 durbar held in grand style, with all the colours, full of an undiluted mix of the culture of the people Niger State. The two day event kicked off on Saturday morning inside Niger State Government house, after which the carnival hit the streets of Minna.
 The carnival which became bigger the next day lighting up the streets of Minna, in the evening the women party kicked off with a lot of dignitaries in attendance and wasn't denied of its own glitz and glamour.
The 2012 Durbar was themed after the Nupe traditional cloth called Gokpara which is used in the Tee shirt for the event =========================>
which is used by the Nupe people in the state, which also has other tribes such as the Gwari. and fulanis (Shirt was made by Mr Prints for the Ministry of Tourism and culture)
The Niger state culture is quite rich and we have pictures of the entire event which was kicked off at The Government house Minna, Niger State by HRH Alh. (Dr) Umar Faruq Bahago (Emir of Minna) also present the Deputy Governor Hon. Ahmed Ibeto (santurakin Kontagora) amongst other Dignitaries. The event is organised in various emirates acros Niger State such as Bida, Zungeru and Kotangora, a delight for every family and tourist to witness at least once in a lifetime.
